The short answer
The Uneekor EYE MINI is a high-speed camera monitor that sits beside the ball, so it needs about 15 to 16 feet of depth instead of the 16 to 19 feet radar wants. The line runs from the EYE MINI CORE from $1,199, which Carl's Place lists with 1 year of GSPro through 12/15/2026 (playing it needs a Uneekor Pro membership at $199 a year), to the EYE MINI at from $1,999, which adds putting analysis. It is not an overhead unit.

The Uneekor EYE MINI is a camera launch monitor built for home simulators, sold in three versions: the EYE MINI CORE, the EYE MINI LITE and the full EYE MINI. This review is based on published specifications and retailer documentation, not on our own use. It explains what separates the three, how much room a beside-the-ball camera unit needs, and what you will still pay for after the monitor.
One correction up front, because the name causes confusion: the EYE MINI is not the overhead Uneekor. The ceiling-mounted models are the EYE XO and EYE XO2. The MINI family stands next to the ball.
Camera versus radar, in one paragraph
A photometric monitor uses high-speed cameras to photograph the ball and club at impact, then calculates the shot. Golfer’s Authority lists the strengths as impact data to the millimeter, a fit for tight spaces and precise club readings such as face angle, attack angle and path. The downsides are a need for consistent lighting, no tracking of the full flight and more upkeep, such as lens cleaning. Radar does the opposite: it reads the ball in flight and wants a long room. The radar versus camera guide lays the two out with diagrams.
The three versions
| Model | Price | What the listing says |
|---|---|---|
| EYE MINI CORE | from $1,199 | High-speed cameras and infrared, compact, minimal setup, listed with 1 year of GSPro through 12/15/2026 |
| EYE MINI LITE | from $1,699 | Photometric cameras, Ethernet only, indoor use, plug in power and Ethernet and aim at the screen, listed with 1 year of GSPro through 12/15/2026 (needs the Pro Package or higher) |
| EYE MINI | from $1,999 | Photometric cameras, portable, tracks roll, face angle and start line on putts, listed with 1 year of GSPro |
The CORE is the lowest-priced Uneekor in our catalog, and its listed downsides are that GSPro needs a renewal after the first year and that it has fewer features than the other two. The LITE is the simplest to set up but wired only, so it suits a bay where the PC sits near the mat. The full EYE MINI costs $300 more than the LITE. Its listing adds putting analysis and portability, which matters if you also want to use it at the range.
How much room it needs
Shop Indoor Golf’s table puts camera monitors that sit beside the ball, including the EYE MINI, at about 10 feet high, 12 to 13 feet wide and 15 to 16 feet deep. Compare that with radar units behind the golfer, which the same table lists at 16 to 19 feet deep and 12 to 15 feet wide.
Two practical points follow:
- Depth. The standard depth formula still applies: roughly 1 foot behind the screen, 10 to 12 feet from tee to screen, and 4 to 7 feet behind the golfer. A beside-the-ball unit saves you the extra feet that radar needs behind the ball, but it does not remove the golfer’s own space.
- Height. The unit does not hang from the ceiling, but Shop Indoor Golf’s table still lists about 10 feet of height for this group, so do not treat the MINI as a cure for a low ceiling. Swing clearance sets the number: Golfer’s Authority puts irons and wedges at 8.5 to 9 feet and drivers at 10 feet or more. With an 8 foot ceiling, read the low ceiling guide before you buy anything.
Measure your own swing with a slow practice swing and your driver, and keep about 7 feet of clear space around the golfer, as Carl’s Place recommends. A monitor does not make a tight room usable: ceiling strikes and rebounding balls are risks it cannot remove, so keep children and pets out of the room while someone hits.
Software and what you pay after the box
All three need a computer, and simulation runs on software you buy separately or in the box:
- All three models are listed at Carl’s Place with 1 year of GSPro. Carl’s Place prices the first-year license at $250, and it renews after that.
- EYE MINI CORE and LITE: the listings say the offer runs through 12/15/2026. The LITE listing says the year is unlocked by the Uneekor Pro Package ($199 a year) or higher. We have not confirmed whether the CORE has the same condition, so read its listing.
- EYE MINI: the listing also shows 1 year of GSPro; confirm the end date and conditions with the seller.
- Carl’s Place’s GSPro review says Uneekor devices need a Pro Package to connect to GSPro. Other Uneekor software tiers cost extra, and we do not have those prices.
GSPro runs on Windows only, and 4K graphics need a capable PC. Our software subscription guide compares what each monitor brand asks you to pay each year, and the computer requirements guide covers the PC. Deciding between this and a Bushnell? See EYE MINI versus Launch Pro.
Handedness and mats
A unit beside the ball sits on one side of the mat. For a mixed household, you move the unit to the other side. Check that your mat leaves room for both the monitor and your feet. Shop Indoor Golf notes common mats are 5 ft by 5 ft or 4 ft by 7 ft, and PlayBetter warns, about the Foresight GC3, that a 5 by 5 mat may not fit both a side unit and your feet.
Run the numbers
Enter your room in the room size calculator to see whether a beside-the-ball unit fits, then add the monitor and software to the cost calculator. More pairings are in all comparisons.
Who should skip it
- Anyone who cannot run Ethernet to the hitting station. Skip the LITE.
- Mixed left- and right-handed households who want a fixed setup. The overhead XO2 lists a large 28 by 21 inch hitting area and works for both hands together, though it costs from $7,999.
- Anyone who wants lowest cost. Radar units start at $499.99 for the Garmin R10 and from $549.99 for the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, and both need more depth. See our R10 review.
- Anyone who expects accuracy to be proven. Uneekor’s accuracy claims are the maker’s. We have no independent test comparing monitors.
Common buying mistakes
- Picking by price alone. All three models list 1 year of GSPro, but the offer on the CORE and LITE ends 12/15/2026, the LITE needs the Pro Package or higher to unlock it, and every model pays for GSPro from year two.
- Forgetting the PC. Simulation software wants a dedicated graphics card and extra memory.
- Skipping the cable. The LITE is Ethernet only. Plan the run before the walls close.
- Lighting. Photometric units need consistent light and no direct sun on the lens.
- Not budgeting the rest. The CORE package at from $4,499.95 shows how quickly the screen, projector and mat add up. See the cost guide and the under $5,000 builds.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Uneekor EYE MINI an overhead monitor?
No. Shop Indoor Golf's space table puts the EYE MINI in the group of camera monitors that sit beside the ball. The overhead Uneekor units are the EYE XO and EYE XO2, which hang 9 to 10 feet above the hitting surface. A beside-the-ball unit does not need a ceiling mount.
How much room does the EYE MINI need?
Shop Indoor Golf's table lists beside-the-ball camera monitors, including the EYE MINI, at about 10 feet high, 12 to 13 feet wide and 15 to 16 feet deep. That is less depth than radar, but your own swing still decides the ceiling you need.
Does the EYE MINI need a subscription?
Simulation needs software. Carl's Place lists all three EYE MINI models with 1 year of GSPro, which it prices at $250 for the first year, and GSPro renews after that. On the CORE and LITE listings the offer runs through 12/15/2026. The LITE listing says the free year needs the Uneekor Pro Package ($199 a year) or higher, and Carl's Place says Uneekor monitors need a Pro Package to connect to GSPro. We have not confirmed the CORE's conditions, so read its listing before you order.
Can the EYE MINI LITE run on Wi-Fi?
No. The LITE connects by Ethernet only. If your hitting station is far from the router, plan a cable run before you finish the walls.
Does the EYE MINI work for left- and right-handed players?
A unit that stands beside the ball sits on one side. PlayBetter makes the point about the Foresight GC3: switching handedness means moving a side-mounted unit to the other side. Households with mixed players may prefer an overhead unit such as the EYE XO2, which lists a hitting area that works for left- and right-handed players together.
