The short answer

GSPro is $250 a year and runs on Windows with a supported list of dozens of monitors, E6 Connect Home is listed at $1,000 one time, and brand apps such as Garmin Golf or Rapsodo run on a phone or tablet. Over five years the yearly plans range from $499.95 to $2,999.95, so the software can cost more than the monitor.

This page puts the main simulator programs in one place so you can see which one fits your monitor, what device it needs and what it costs over time. It is built from the makers’ pages and dealer listings, not from running the programs. For a plain-English guide to each plan, see software subscriptions.

The programs in one table

Software Device Cost as listed Notes
GSPro Windows PC only $250 per year Subscription only, no lifetime option
E6 Connect Home (TruGolf) Windows 10, 64-bit $1,000 one time Carl’s Place lists a one-year plan at $450
The Golf Club 2019 Windows PC $950 one time (one guide) Older game; status unclear, see below
Foresight+ (GC3, Bushnell) Phone or tablet app; Premier on Windows Free tier, Silver $199, Gold $599 per year Course Pass is $295 a year and Course Pass Pro $595, both on top of Silver or Gold
Rapsodo Core (MLM2XPRO) iPhone, iPad or Android $199.99 per year 21-day trial, listed by Shop Indoor Golf
Rapsodo Premium (MLM2PRO) iPhone, iPad or Android $199 per year Rapsodo also lists a $599 lifetime option; a free trial comes with a new unit
Garmin Golf / Home Tee Hero iOS and Android (R50 runs it on the unit) $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year Garmin’s app listing; more than 43,000 courses per Garmin
Square software iOS, Android or Windows Reported as credits About $0.02 per credit in one guide; confirm with Square
SkyTrak plans iOS, Android, Windows Free to $599.99 per year Five tiers, listed below

Treat every figure as a seller’s listing. Prices move, and some sources disagree, so confirm on the maker’s page before you buy.

Which software runs on which monitor

The most useful question is not “which program is best” but “which programs does my monitor support”. GSPro’s own page names a long list. The ones in our product data are:

Monitor Maker’s own software GSPro on the official list?
Garmin Approach R10 Garmin Golf, Home Tee Hero Yes
Rapsodo MLM2PRO Rapsodo app, Premium Membership Yes, needs Rapsodo Premium Membership
Rapsodo MLM2XPRO Rapsodo Core membership Not named
Square Golf Home and Omni Square’s own app Yes
FlightScope Mevo Gen2 8 E6 courses, permanent license Yes
Uneekor EYE MINI and LITE Uneekor View, Refine Yes, needs a Uneekor Pro membership ($199 a year) or higher; GSPro’s list does not name the CORE
SkyTrak SkyTrak plans Not named
Foresight GC3 Foresight+, Premier Yes, per GSPro needs FSX 2020 or FSX Play
Bushnell Launch Pro Foresight+ Silver or Gold Yes, needs Gold
ProTee VX ProTee’s own, no mandatory annual fee Yes

Two cautions. First, the SkyTrak listing says it pairs with GSPro, but GSPro’s own supported list does not name SkyTrak, and Carl’s Place calls it outside the official list. Ask the seller. Second, a name on the list is not the same as a free connection: GSPro’s own page says Foresight GC3 owners need FSX 2020 or FSX Play, Launch Pro owners need a Gold plan, and Uneekor owners need a Pro membership.

Yearly cost of each plan

Some plans are cheap to start and heavy to keep. This table multiplies the listed yearly price by five. These are simple sums, not quotes.

Plan Per year Over 5 years
Garmin Golf $99.99 $499.95
SkyTrak Essential $129.99 $649.95
Foresight+ Silver $199 $995
Uneekor Pro membership $199 $995
Rapsodo Premium (MLM2PRO) $199 $995
Rapsodo Core (MLM2XPRO) $199.99 $999.95
GSPro $250 $1,250
SkyTrak Core with Foresight $299.99 $1,499.95
SkyTrak Core with TrackMan $349.99 $1,749.95
Foresight+ Gold $599 $2,995
SkyTrak Elite $599.99 $2,999.95
E6 Connect Home lifetime $1,000 once $1,000
E6 Connect one-year plan (Carl’s Place) $450 $2,250
FlightScope Mevo Gen2, 8 E6 courses none $0

The Garmin Golf figure is from Garmin’s app store listing, and Rapsodo’s from its own membership page, so confirm both at checkout. The Mevo Gen2 row covers only the eight courses it includes; a bigger library costs extra.

If you add GSPro to the Rapsodo MLM2PRO you pay for both, so the yearly total is $250 plus $199, or $449. The budget guide uses that math for an entry build.

The older and smaller options

The Golf Club 2019. Golfer’s Authority lists $950 one time, with another line on the same page saying $895 for the series. On Steam the PGA TOUR edition was retired, with a last price of $49.99, and SteamDB notes that original servers shut down on 30 October 2024. Through SkyTrak it is a subscription. Its PC needs are light: Shop Indoor Golf lists an Intel Core i5, 4 GB of RAM and a GTX 670. That makes it easy to run, but check that the version you are buying is still supported.

Square and pay-per-round pricing. Golfer’s Authority puts credits at about $0.02, with 1,000 credits covering around 55 rounds. That is roughly $20 if that pricing holds, which would put light players below any subscription above, but Square’s own page was not the source, so confirm it.

Simulator Golf Tour. Carl’s Place lists it at $80.

OptiShot 2. It is a mat-based infrared system with no mandatory monthly or yearly fee and one-time course purchases. See the OptiShot 2 review.

Course libraries compared

A course count is easy to quote and hard to compare, because the programs count different things. Here is what the listings say.

  • GSPro: more than 2,500 community-created courses plus official ones, per Carl’s Place. Some designers host courses on private servers that may need a separate Patreon membership.
  • Rapsodo Core: 30,000+ simulator courses, as listed on the MLM2XPRO page.
  • Garmin Home Tee Hero: more than 43,000 courses, per Garmin.
  • E6 Connect: TruGolf says its Expanded Subscription covers most of the E6 library except licensed content such as Pebble Beach.
  • Mevo Gen2: eight E6 courses with a permanent license.

A very large count mostly means many are scanned or user-made. A smaller, fixed set may be all you need if you mainly want practice rounds. If you want the famous courses, check whether they are in the plan you are buying before you pay.

Phone, tablet or PC

The device decides the shortlist before the price does. Garmin Golf runs on iOS and Android (the R50 also runs Home Tee Hero on its own screen), Rapsodo’s app runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, and the Full Swing App is iOS only. GSPro and E6 Connect need Windows. Shop Indoor Golf lists a 16 GB machine with an RTX 3060 Ti for GSPro, and a GTX 1070 with 8 GB for E6 Connect Home. The computer requirements page sets out the tiers.

How to choose

  1. Start with the monitor. List the software it supports and note any extra license.
  2. Pick the device. If you want to play on a tablet, GSPro is out.
  3. Add the years. Multiply the yearly fee by the years you expect to play.
  4. Check the course library. A fixed set of eight courses is not the same as 30,000.
  5. Confirm on the maker’s page. Plans change, and so do bundles.

Where to go next

Put your own picks into the cost guide and the launch monitor guide, or read the R10 versus MLM2PRO comparison to see two entry monitors set against each other with their software costs. Two mid-priced pairs are covered in SkyTrak+ versus Mevo Gen2 and Uneekor EYE MINI versus Bushnell Launch Pro, and the Garmin R50 review shows how a monitor with its own software runs without a PC. The launch monitor finder can shortlist monitors before you price the software.

Frequently asked questions

Which golf simulator software works with the most launch monitors?

GSPro's own page lists dozens of monitors, including Garmin R10 and R50, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, FlightScope Mevo+ and Gen2, Uneekor, Foresight, Bushnell Launch Pro, Square Home and Omni, ProTee VX and Full Swing KIT. SkyTrak is not named on that list, so check before pairing them.

Can I run GSPro on a Mac or an iPad?

GSPro is a Windows program, and its own page lists Windows 10 or 11. So a Mac or an iPad is not a direct option for GSPro. Brand apps such as Garmin Golf and Rapsodo's app are the phone and tablet route.

Is The Golf Club 2019 still a good choice?

It is an older game with light PC needs, but its status is unclear. On Steam the PGA TOUR edition was retired, with a last price of $49.99, and SteamDB records original servers shutting down on 30 October 2024. Golfer's Authority lists a $950 one-time price for the simulator edition, so confirm with the seller first.

Is a one-time license cheaper than a subscription?

Sometimes. E6 Connect Home is listed at $1,000 one time, which is the same as four years of GSPro, while Carl's Place lists a one-year E6 plan at $450. If you keep a simulator for five or more years a lifetime license can win, but only if the software keeps being supported.

Do I need two software products?

Often yes. To use GSPro, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO also needs a Premium Membership from Rapsodo ($199 a year), and an Uneekor owner needs a Uneekor Pro membership ($199 a year). The Mevo Gen2 includes eight E6 courses, but GSPro is a separate purchase. Count both when you compare totals.
